The book club at Collegiate may be small, but what it lacks in numbers, it makes up for in spirit. Run by Mr
s. Keyer, the club meets once a month in the Street Learning Commons during lunch to discuss their latest read. Along with their book discussion, the club gets to wear official club t-shirts and eat a tasty dessert (courtesy of Mrs. Keyer) on meeting days. Anyone in the club can suggest a novel for the group to read, and some of their past reads have included Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom, Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, and The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Anything from a psychedelic thriller to a heartbreaking love story is a welcome suggestion. Currently, the club is reading Gillian Flynn’s debut novel, Sharp Objects. Anyone in the high school is welcome to join! All you have to do is read the current book, and let Mrs. Keyer know that you interested.
